Recent Federal legislation now explicitly requires that all Federal agencies take full responsibility for the proper curation of artifacts and record holdings that have resulted from enumerable cultural resource management projects that have been driven by Federal laws. Recently, an automated curation assessment method has been developed that offers more objective means for assessing collections and repositories in the context of a standardized database.
